minnkota trolling motor

so, i let the smoke out of my trolling motor last weekend. its a 2006 pd55. steering works but when i give her some juice the circuit board under the batter monitor sizzels and smokes. is this a warranty issue? is this part availible? i’ve already removed. this is my first issue with my first boat. can you guys help me with a plan of action? thanks.

sounds like a fried board I called and orederd 1 from Min Kota earlier this year for my PD74 think it cost me $70.

Should be under warranty. Check out their website for the closest MinnKota repair center.

If I recall they have a 4 year warranty….two years for sure.

Call em have the serial number, they should send you the part under warranty, as you see not too hard to change out

thanks, i’ll give that a try. i’m pretty sure i never registered it. do you think that will complicate things?

oh yeah, can you save me a couple seconds searching? where will i find the serial #?

“Shouldn’t” have to register it, the number you need should be found under the trolling motor “head”
