Just like the title states—my trolling motor has, or what it seems like, no power. It is a minn-kota 55lb.er all-terrain just turned 2!!! My buddy was surprised at how it wouldn’t even pull my 15 foot alumacraft flat bottom duck boat up river at all. To put that in perspective he has a 18 foot stratos and a 44 lb. thruster and it pulls his boat up river with no problems that he speaks of. His thoughts were that it maybe because of the prop or that the battery might be starting to wear. ANY suggestions would help.

    Thanks in Advance—–Lars

If you have a DMM or voltmeter, have your buddy measure the battery voltage while you’re running it (in the river, against a load). If it drops below 10 or so, the battery is toast.

It might just be corrosion on one or more of the contacts causing increased resistance. Feel around on the wiring contact points to see if any are hot.
