Last sunday I was out on the water and my 240 beeped twice and went blank. The unit is between 2 and 3 years old. When I got home I checked all the fuses and checked the unit to see if it was getting juice and it was. Monday I got on the phone with Garmin in KS and explained my problem. They told me for a flat rate of $79 they would fix the unit and load any new software that was available for it. So, monday afternoon I sent it out. I just recieved it back today. It seems to be working fine now. I did notice some improvement with it. I figured that the $79 sent was worth it. I give Garmin customer service a “that a boy”.

Garmin tends to have pretty good service. I have a customer who ordered a CD Rom, thinking it had Rainy Lake on it. He got the CD and discovered Rainy Lake was not available on the CD for another month (on the upgrade). Garmin is going to send him the new, upgraded CD free. Again, good service after the sale I think.

    Hey Kerry,
What Garmin did was send me out a reconditioned unit. It’s not the same one I sent in. I’m very pleased with there service. I hope you have as good experience as I have. Like I said, the unit they sent me has some upgrades to it also.

good service is very hard to beat…It will keep a customer coming back even if the product isn’t “top of the line”

I’m glad to hear of your great story
