I have an Alumacraft 175 Tournament Pro with a 150 Etec. I’m not getting the RPMs up over 4800 – owners manual says that it should be up around 5500.

Does anyone have a similar rig? Are you using a 19 pitch prop? (I currently have a 21 on my Etec).

Also, will this give me a few additional mph?

    I have a customer that has a 175 Dominator with a 150 E-TEC.It is a 25 inch model mounted the 3rd hole up and turns a 19″ 4 blade Merc prop to 5400 @55mph on the speedo.
The prop is a Vensura and works awesome.

You are definitely overpropped. Try a 19″ from your dealer since they should have propped it correctly from the beginning. BRP likes to have their motors turn a 17″ – 19″ prop on a general purpose boat and 19″- 21″ on high speed hulls. Check out BRP’s website for a similar setup in their 150 hp performance tab. Keep in mind that you hull is heavier than the Navigator 175 and they run them w/o all your gear. http://www.evinrude.com/NR/rdonlyres/61920FC7-658E-4261-BF36-7E608000FDD0/0/PE511.pdf

I had the same issue, I’m running a 150 ficht on a 1800 pro v, was getting about the same revs as you are. I went to a Raker. I’ll have to dbl check on the exact size tonight.
