Oxygenator—–this thing can’t even keep minnows alive let alone walleyes
    Vanish and Transition——talk about tangles
Lowrance products lately——notice I said lately, just been having alot of problems with my x-19 (screen flips upside down), H2o (powercord never worked), 334(not picking up signal, traded for 332 which works well) but then I just bough x25 so I’m crossing fingers.
Marcum lx-3 (don’t know why I ever left vexlar)(it doesn’t consistantly pick up my jig) (I know alot of guys on here are marcum guys but just my opinion)

Let’s see if we can remedy some of this stuff here. You may have already tried it but…
Oxygenator- I don’t have much experience with this but you have to make sure that your live well isn’t constantly putting new water in.
Vanish-Let it spool off of your reel behind your boat while you are at idle speed. After most of the line is out close the bail. Then let it drag for about 30 seconds. After the time is up reel it in and it should be good.
Lowrance-sounds like bad luck, contact lowrance and see what they can do.
    Marcum-same as above.

Can I add my three to the list? The old style PowerDrive foot-controllers. Solar Sensation, arghh! And, just about every make and model of cold-weather fishing gloves…especially the neoprene kind!

Dang, I have it good! The only thing that dissapointed me lately is my on crosseyed “special” cockapoo. I thought I had him broken of taking the FW’s covers off her at night…still more work.

    Anyway…enough of my problems.

You’ll have to expand on the Oxygenator problem. I know that if you get minnows from a bait shop that puts salt in their water…the Oxygenator will create chlorine and your bait will die..fast. Many bait shops do this…I was surprised.
If your keeping bait…or fish for a long period of time…like 2 or more days…agitation is a must to get rid of the ammonia waste from the bait.
Now if your fish are dyeing in your live well…that’s another story…but your case would be the first I’ve heard of this linked to the Oxygenator.

How deep of water are you fishing with your Marcum? Do you have it mounted in your boat..or are you talking about last ice season? When did you buy your LX-3?

Now I have an X-19 and had that happen to me once…I traced it back to low voltage. I ran my battery down (with the cd player…thanks Favorite Wife), once the battery was up to snuff it’s worked great.
Just a suggestion of course. This may or may not be your problem.

Oxygenator was put in 5 gallon baitwell that was half full from fishing trip. Water was from the lake. Half minnows died next day. I might try taking them out and putting them in fridge with some circulation.
Vanish is good for tying rigs but not on your spool.
Lowrance is still good company and I like their products. They need to step it up though with costumer service. They better watch out Hummingbird is a serious threat.
Marcum this lx-3 is was 5 years old and I upgraded the whole unit to true color. I also had the transducer replaced on the latest one. Can’t talk me out of this one. Their customer service is good. But your have to keep jiggling the bait to get it to come up with the gain on high. My old vex I barely had to touch that gain. And by the way with my old vex I never even called customer service once on anything.
Does it ever seem like you guys get into a customer service rut. Boy I am looking for some better products.

Trust me there is a problem with your LX3, might be a transducer, might be something else, I have 2 of them myself, and one works perfect, I can see a very small jig in 30′ of water without question on one of my lx3’s, and not on the other… Swapped transducers, and it’s not a trasnducer issue… The same unit that doesn’t pick up a jig causes nasty interference with all other fish finders, at first I thought it was because I had 2 lx3’s, then I fished with some other people with lx3’s and didn’t have any problems, so I know it’s that unit now.

Good news is you have plenty of time to get it in NOW before ice season hit. Make sure you have a good battery too, I had issues with my good working LX3 that were caused by a bad battery.

    Trust me something is wrong.

Oxygenator..works best with recirculated water and the unit must be clean.

Vanish..If you are having problems with tangles you are spooling your line on wrong, overfilling the spool or not allowing time for the line to seat itself on the spool. I use it on about 16 spinning reels and love it.

    Lowrance..I can’t comment on.

LX-3..You have a bad transducer… call MarCum service and get a new one. After you do that, come back and tell us how your MarCum works

My top 3 disappointments for 2007 are (In no particular order…)

Suffix line. Both Elite and Siege. Not impressed.

BoatMate Accessories. All of them! These are the suction cup gadgets for boats – THEY DON’T STICK!!!

Matzuo Lures. None were in tune out of the box and none performed well either trolled or casted.

My Garmin Fish Finder which literally goes nuts everytime I troll over a wing dam.

My Jayco Camper because it is almost impossible to get the king sized bed out, and the manufacturer may refuse to fix and honor their warranty.

My new E-Tec. Not as good as a Johnson/Suziki four stroke. It is louder, goes no faster, the tilt drops, and there have been a few service bulletins not shared with the purchasers of these motors. The most recent one regarding spark plugs and how often BPR will replace during the first three years. Nothing major here, but a bit disappointing.

Skunked…make the trip to Everts resort in about 2 weeks…with a little direction from the crew that hangs around there…you’ll be changing your handle to “Overlimit on Plasitics”.

I was talking with some guys at Everts that are from Milwaukee. They were telling me that BfishN Tackles Ringworms are DEADLY on the Fox River.

I’m planning on headin that way,I’ve met a few of the fellas and it’s fun ..but humbling.I was there about weigh in time for a bass tourney,Dean had a sheet of bass weights but ALL the fisherman were talkin walleye at a level that us waaayyyy above me.
Your response reminded me of something. One of the guys was from Ellsworth (a pro),and he was headed out to pre-fish for a tourney at Cleveland,Oh did anybody hear how it went for him?

They are deadly on the Wisconsin as well. I’ve had many days over the last couple winters where the only boats doing well were using ringworms and paddles. Usually it is just my boat doing well there since people refuse to get off the jig and minnow, but hey, more fish for me

    My three dissapointments of 2007

    The Milwaukee Brewers
United Airlines – Can they ever get you through O’Hare on time?
Menards – Do they cut their lumber from crooked trees?

Although I’m not a big fan of Home Depot… they do have better wood.

We must have a lousy Home Depot in Rochester. I have consistently found better wood at Menards here. I have heard others say HD has better wood also, but I have never seen it myself…and they are 10-15% higher. YMMV.

Can’t complain about my fishing stuff, I have hardly been out.

Having a hard time finding a great enclosed trailer for my business.

Nobody seems to put good paint on the steel framed trailers. They are rusty before they leave the lot.

The screwless smooth side ones have poor double sided tape and the side is all wrinkly. I need smooth sides for lettering.

The galvanized hinges and door bars are starting to show signs of corrosion or rust.

Some trailers are nice, but every manufacturer misses out on some part of quality.
