If your willing to spend the money, a wildlife eye is head and shoulders above in my opinion. I bought the video camera part off ebay and put mine together for about $500.00. I’ve learned more from the video than any still-shots. Just my opinion.

Are you looking for a video cam type or a still photo cam?

Originally a camera but am open to anything. How would you run the camera if you went that way? Power to it? Record time? Very interesting thought since the area I would be putting it up in is very safe and I would not be worried about theft. Thanks for your replies in advance. Ted

You can now get a camera that takes photos and does video clips. From what I have seen I wouldn’t spend $500 on a Wildlife eye when you can get an excellent digital camera that does both for $200-$300. Moultry has 2 new ones that you need to check out the I40 and 60.Both of these take photos and video clips up to 30 seconds.Excellent quality and they are no flash at night too.
    Good Luck!

There are a few sites where you can pick up game cameras that are made from regular digital cameras that will take as good or better pics than most commercial cams. Most of them are made from Sony products, S40’s, S600’s, P32’s, P41’s etc. Here are two of them……. HAG’S HOUSE & REAL DEAL HUNTING CHAT . You may have to register to post any questions you have in the proper forums. I built my own camera with the help of people on these sites. Can’t hurt to look.

It’s crazy the stuff these cameras catch in the wild. Here is a fine specimen of an archery hunter.
