Downsizing Musky Baits?

I live close to a lake that produced a world record pike way back in the day. I’m wondering about some of your homebrewed lures. I wanna see some examples of spinners that you guys have tied for muskies. I’m not so sure I should downsize a musky bait though. I’ve heard that there are record sized fish in this lake but all they do is grab a 2 foot carp and set on bottom for a week or so until its digested. What do you guys recommend for spinners as far as record breaking northerns go? Swizzle

I would strongly suggest using a bait that resembles a two foot carp Seriously though, don’t down size any of your baits, keep them and buy smaller ones to add to your arsenal.
There are so many good bucktails out there it is hard to choose a favorite but the double blades have been making a statement the last few seasons. Good luck

I wouldn’t down size Just add on.

If they are in there like you say, get a 10 inch Storm Kickin minnow, or DunWright lifelike(not sure of spelling)and throw that around in the Fall

Well it use to be the sacandaga river. In 1930 they flooded the valley and the surrounding towns and called it the great sacandag lake. Lately the pollution level in this lake has dropped it down to a class B lake. Which means its safe to swim and fish but don’t drink the water or eat the fish. I believe the record holders name was Peter Dubuc and I think it was in the 40’s that he set the record. I’ll have to look it up. This might sound crazy but has anyone thought about making a spoon that was somewhat skinny and maybe a foot and a half long and paint it the same color as a carps underbelly and troll that? It would probably need at least 5 large trebles attached to it. I think there’s a 15 point limit to how many hook points your allowed. Swizzle
