9.9 to 15

    Has anyone here upgraded their 9.9 2stroke mid 70’s Johnson/Evinrude to a 15 by just replacing the carburator?

    Try this site and ask that question. I’ve heard both, that it’s possible, and that is isn’t possible. The reasoning behind it not working is the exhaust ports on the 9.9 are smaller than the 15, and can’t handle the larger amount of exhaust and you actually lose power, but i’m not sure on that 100%
