Does anyone know if a Lowrance 111 and a 113 have the same connections.Meaning can I swap one with the other and not have to change the wireing. Thanks

    EDIT !!!

No. The 112 and 113 are interchangable. The 111 runs the old 2000 series puck.

Are the other wires the same? The reason I ask is because the boat I am buying has a 111 on the bow and a 113 on the dash.If I were to have problems with the 113 I would like to use the 111 as a backup as I doubt I will use it much in the bow off of the trolling motor.Maybe I could run an extra wire up to the dash to tap into the module if neded?Hows your new boat treating you?By the way the wharf is doing some dredging this week

Hey Robert the wires are interchangeable…lets say your 113 goes down and you want to hook up the 111 to the lgc 3000 antenna, it will not run unless you have updated your 111 to the current software to run off the 3000 antenna, other wise all othe wires are the same.

lets see some new pictures of the skeeter!

The power plug and transducer are the same, the network connections are different.

At worse I think you can get a adaptor cable to run the new puck (lcg3000 on the 111 or the 113 on the lcg2000) Not 100% on how the adaptor cables work, but you should be able to carry one (adaptor cable) or network the two units to get the GPS to be able to be shared.

I do believe you need to most current software on the 111 to run with the lcg3000 gps puck, jury is still out on if the newest software actually works, seems lots of people have problems right now (transducer reading issues), looks like lowrance is releasing some new software to people as we write.

SO in all you should be able with the proper adaptor cable and software.

So what your saying is I could update it then it would work? But then would it work if I put it back or would I have to put a 3000 in the front to.Ill try to post a pic.

    Nice looking boat Robert!

I would carry the update with you in the boat on a blank chip if the 113 goes down, then you know that the update will work on the 111 to run off the lgc 3000 antenna.

Since when do you run a trolling motor????

Put both those units on the dash!! Or rig one by the T-8

The T8 is a tiller but is tied to the main motor for us wheel guys Also has a trollmaster.Has a 101# Vantage on the back but I think I will be selling that as I dont see a need for it on this boat.Would have also had 2 113s on it but they were in short supply at the time.If all the other wires are the same I might just get an extesion cord and run it from the dash to the other module and if I have a problem just tap into the other module if it is easily accessable.I guess I will have to figure that out.

I might actually run the trolling motor on this boat.It has a 101 terrova on it and she has some power. However I will run it from the drivers seat with the co pilot.

So far so good! That is great news about the dredge. I’ll be up this weekend to check it out.

If both units are already on the boat and working you should be good to go. If your still finishing up the install you will need an adaptor cable going to one of the units based on the color connectors your network backbone is using. I used P/N 127-05 to mate my 113 to the lgc2000 network on my boat. This cable plugs into the back of my 113, if you need to connect the 111 to the lgc3000 network you will need a blue to red adaptor with the correct gendered connectors.

If you are already up and running, you need to figure out which unit has the adaptor cable on it. The previous owner must have set the network up using the new red or old blue connectors. If it is a red network, the adaptor cable will be on the 111, and if it is a blue the adaptor will be on the 113. It is no biggy to pull that cable, it will only be about a foot long. The end connecting to the network backbone will have the color connector the rest of the network is using.

I would consider that adaptor cable to be part of the unit it is attached to, you will need to move that cable along with the unit to connect back up to the network backbone at the new location.

    Nice looking boat!

If you are interested in adding a 113 for the bow let me know as I have 2 new in the box that arrived last week.

FYI – there are more maps loaded on the HD of the 113 than the 111 had in there.

Hope to see you on Mille Lacs this fall!
