just wondering what experiences you bowhunters out there have had with pop-up blinds with shoot-through windows? that is, does shooting through the screen affect arrow flight?
i shoot nap expandables, which i know are probably out, but i also shoot 125 thunderheads out of my 70-pound draw bow.
i am looking to move up from my old blind, which was one of the first tee pees to come out. i’ve killed deer out of it, but usually get busted or cant get a shot from the one shooting window when i call in turkeys. i am looking for more concealment with the mesh windows and something with at least 270 degrees of shooting lanes. i am on a mission to get a bowkill gobbler during the fall season.
    thanks in advance

You will have no problems with your thunderheads. Just make sure you are fairly close to the window. I have shot expandables through the net but I am not comfortable with them. I would stick with the thunderhead.

I just bought my first bow this last Dec and I have sort of the same question..
I have been looking at ground blinds for a while now and I still do not like the fact that my arrow is going to hit something (window) before hiting the deer. I bought a ladder stand and I have been shooting targets from it. If I hit a leaf or a twig on the way to the target it throws the arrow way off!

Why doesnt the window of the blind?

you can buy replacment screens for the blind , i would do alot of practice out of it first to see exactly what it does.

Shoot through windows in a quality blind are no problem with fixed heads. You shouldn’t notice any difference in arrow flight. Expadables are OK if your shots are straight through the screen. If it is an angled shot, you’ll want the fixed blade head. Good luck.

    thanks, guys
i happen to be in the st. louis area this weekend. only 10 minutes from a bass pro and a new cabelas. i am sure todays road trip will take us past both stores.
i have a couple of hunting spots with travel corridors used by bucks but no trees tall enough for a stand. thats why i need a better blind.
no matter what style/brand blind i get, there definitely will be a lot of practice arrows flying through those net windows.
