Would like to get imput on on board chargers (transformer and solid state) brand etc. What options are out there to mount large Lowrance units other than Ram?
    Thanks

I have a Minn Kota 2-bank (10 amps per bank) charger that has performed wonderfully for the past 3 years.

“Guest” makes oustanding chargers. I own 2 and they work flawlessly including the one that has been in my boat for many years. I use “Johnny Ray” mounts for my electronics. They were once the standard before ram came out. They work as good if not better. I would use them on a new boat.

I picked up a 3 bank Minnkota from JollyAnn…upon Wades recommendation.

Left the batteries in the boat for three winters now..(plugged in) and they’ve been working great. I will say I don’t use my 24 volt trolling motor much. But I do use the trolling motor batteries for my bait tank airiators…a lot!

The one thing I noticed was that in the hot weather I would normally have to add water to the batteries…with the computer controled Minnkota I haven’t had to do this. My old charger would boil the water out…I believe.

On board chargers…the only way to fly!
