I just picked up a used 1890 prov with a 150 hp mercury that has a aluminim prop(19 pitch). the motor runs 5500 rpm @WOT. Does anyone have any suggestions on a stainless steel prop for my new rig?

This Link is one of the best options I know of for help, I’m thinking you need to go down a little in size for stainless steel, I think the prop selector will help you better than I could guess.

Tempest plus props seem to be a good choice for heavier boats.

You typically go up in pitch compared to an aluminum. If you are running a 19p and your hole shot is good, you may want to try a 21p Tempest, otherwise a 19p Vengence an you will turn a few more RPM’s compared to your Aluminum. also depends on which Merc you are running…Opti, 4-stroke?
