How accurate is this on Lake of the Woods in the the Sabaskong bay area? Primarily the area around Splitrock Lodge, Hanson Resort area.

i have the 2006 used it on whitefish with crazy accuracy. i would expect the same for sabaskong. we were across the road and used mine on big pine and was pretty decent. if you can get the 2007 chip. it has better detail and more info. i know at the gander mtn here in lacrosse you can see the chip before you buy. i would think most stores would let you do that.?!

Why not call the resorts, I gotta believe they have some idea how good the map cards are.

Your best option for LOTW is the Lakemaster LOTW chip or the new Navionics Premium LOTW chip. Either of those will be better than anything else out there. I would not suggest the 2006 chip if you are primarily concerned with LOTW.

I bought this chip last year. I just haven’t used it @ LOW yet. Going in Sept. I know this chip is not as good as this years(2007), but just wondering if it is somewhat accurate. I thought it would be the ticket on Pokegama in Itasca Co.,Mn, but it is very inaccurate there. I found out later that it is one of the many lakes that Navionics really has not surveyed yet. Thanks for the replies.

The most accurate maps on both Lakemaster and Navionics chips will be the “survey lakes”. Both companies highlight the survey lakes on their lake lists. The survey lakes on both lakemaster and navionics chips are excellent. For LOTW, both companies now offer a LOTW chip that is highly detailed and accuarate. Check the lake list for your lake.

Non-survey lakes will vary in accuracy and detail. Consider them bonus lakes, IMO. Some are quite good, while others are off quite a bit and lack the detail we all want.

The above links offer short cuts to the most popular map chips.
