Ardent XS Baitcasting Reels

I have been reading about the American made Ardent baitcasting fishing reel(s) and am wondering if anyone has experience with one. They are advertised as the only reel made in the states. I would appreciate any input.

I would think for the price of them they better be good ($249)ebay item # 150142481903

Cabela’s is offering the XS model for $180 which is $250 less than the MSRP. Specs. are available at http://www.ardentreels.com.

I have heard few good reports of those reels. I’m rooting for them all the way, but they continue to have pretty major problems with their reels two years into the game. I have heard that they do work very hard to make their customers happy when they have a problem with their Ardent reels (notice I said “when” not “if”).

I truly want to see an American company succeed, but they won’t be getting any of my money till they’ve got things ironed out a bit better.

Correction! The MSRP is $250 which makes the Cabela’s price $70 less. I apologize for the mistake.
