I’m trying to make up my mind please help me.
Ranger 1860 Angler w/F150 Yammie $32,000. Stratos 385XF w/200 Opti $26,000 both with walk thru windshield and set up with the same minkota trolling motor and lowerance electronics. When I compare the boat alone they seam about the same. What makes ther Ranger worth $6,000 more or is it?

At a high level comparison, yes they appear roughly the same. I don’t know if you’ve got in both of them and crawled around for a while, but you’ll start to pick up little things that add up to the difference in price. How things are laid out, ease of use, construction quality, etc.

Don’t forget to look at the Ranger trailer too. It’s one of the best, if not the best, trailer out there.

I asked myself that very question when deciding…. I am not brand-blind.

It was an easy choice once I sat in each boat.Although not to discredit the Stratus in anyway.Key things for me were, the console and storage, legroom, and the rod-storage.Livewell system and a long list of standard options that were optional on Stratus. As mentioned earlier ,the trailer.and boat cover were also factors as well.Overall, the Angler fit my personal style of fishing more closely than did the Stratus.

I was shocked when looking at boats in a brochure vs in-person…..paper just doesnt tell the whole story. I should mention that the price spread was way less than what you mentioned by the time I was apples to apples.

Finally,I percieved that the resale factor was on the Ranger side as well.Good luck to you either way…..I hope you get what works best for your situation.

Trust me man, spend the extra 6000 and get the ranger, you wont regret it. If you have questions, feel free to PM me.

I’ve had multiple salemen tell me the same thing, I gotta believe it’s more than a sales pitch. I ended up with a Ranger myself to be honest I looked at the boat years befoer I bought it, and when I found one at the right price, I didn’t look at any others I have since, and I’m happy to say I haven’t regretted my boat even once yet.
