I’m installing a Lowrance-522c iGPS on our departments water patrol boat. I’m fine with most of the installation but get confused when dealing with the NMEA 2000 cable. There will be no other units in the boat. Can I cap it off, or do I still need to hook it up?

You can terminate loose ends but every connector must be either terminated or connected to equipment. Why do you have the NMEA network with only one unit? Do you plan to connect other devices – temp, fuel management, etc?

It doesn’t sound like you are going to be networking, if not just cap off the ends and you are set.

Thanks for the help. I will not be networking, so it looks like I’ll just cap them off and be set.

just installed one of these on my bro in laws boat, just cap off the networking end, and your unit will work fine.
