Need to be a new 520/522 soon (like yesterday). Who has the internal gps? Just wondering if they have the bugs worked out of it yet? And how its overall abilitiy is. Will be relying on the GPS on lake michigan for near two weeks. I will have a handheld also for backup. Thanks, WTA

I have a friend that has one and loves it
no trouble at all with it and he fishes 5-7 days a week
I plan on getting one soon myself
get it you wont be sorry
if your fishing deeper water I’d go with a 525c it has a dual freq. transducer for deeper water

I have a 522C thanks to Lowrance replacing my 334C that had trouble with last year. Purchase a new 334c April ’06. The unit would lose the GPS signal once in awhile and have to rebout itself which was frustrating. I sent the unit back to Lowrance and they sent me a new 522C in April ’07 and have not any any problem with the unit. Works great.

Ive been using a 522c for 2 months. Has worked perfect no issues. Been on Mille Lacs and Ottertail recently and alot of smaller lakes. I was also a little hesitent when I bought the unit, because of the previous issues. I would buy another if my wife would let me. Good Luck

My friend had trouble with it. His is dash mounted in a full windshield boat. It kept losing and re-acquiring signal one day — drove us nuts. Not sure if his windshield was causing the problem or not. The other boat fishing the same area with us didn’t have a problem with their external GPS.

I was in the same situation as bluewing. I bought a 334 last August. Used it a couple of times. This spring when I went to Canada it started acting up, finding and losing position and the color display went bad. Sent it into Lowrance a month ago. After 3 calls to 3 different tech support people I finally found one that would really listen to my complaints and requests to upgrade it to the 522c. I have only used it once since I received it from Lowrance, but I like it. I believe they have corrected the problems with the new model 522 that they had in the 334. I think you will be happy with it. I have mine on a fishhawk on the dash and the windshield doesn’t seem to interfere with the GPS signal.
