I purchased one of the standard units from Brett King a couple months ago and was treated with nothing less than outstanding service. Brett had me bring my cushion seat over and he installed the seat base to my Lund cushion in about 20 minutes.
I was out on Lake Pepin last weekend with my Lund 1700 Fisherman and found the wind blowing straight up the lake at about 20 mph making for some nice whitecaps, plus there were Titanics all over the place plowing small canyons in every direction making for some very rough water. I could not believe what I was’t feeling. I braced for each huge wave and nothing happened to my body except I could feel the seat mechanism float me up and down. There were no jabs, no pain spikes, no teeth jarring bangs…you can probably guess by now I am totally impressed with these seat bases! I am very critical of equipment I purchase and expect it to perform as advertised, or better. A second one will be installed shortly for my fishing partner. I admit being skeptical about how much better this seat was going to be vs my air rides, but they are not even in the same ballpark. I hope the factory boys start offering these as standard equipment but in the meantime, for those of you wanting the cushiest ride you have ever had, consider giving Brett King a call. These are one, fantastic piece of marine gear I will never be without again.

How do you think they would work in a tiller boat? I have a TP 175 Alumacraft. Since I’m way in the back steering, my air ride gives me all the cushion I need, but the 2 passenger seats further forward get bounced around even with the air rides. How much are they?
I wish I could ride on one before buying.
Hey gang, does anyone have them who will be attending the BB/BS event??

I have the big boy and regular mounts in my boat and will be at the BB/BS weekend and the Get together the following weekend. I did a review back in May.

I wont go without them again!

I think it would work in a tiller application just fine although as you say, it is pretty smooth back there anyway. As for the passengers farther forward, they’d think cloud 9 moved into your boat. I’ll try mine in the Rebel tiller I have this Fall as I get ready for Winter fishing. In the meantime, WOW..what a nice ride!

EFN’s Bob ”Bobber” Carlson of Hooks and Bobber Guide Service took John Weiss out fishing on Mille Lacs a couple weeks ago. John has a bad back so Bob ordered a Smooth Moves seat mount from Brett King and installed it in area of the tiller boat that John would be sitting in. Well John was so happy with the Smooth Moves that he called Brett up and had Brett take him out fishing on the Mississippi River so he could ride in the Smooth Moves again and get more info on them. The article about the Smooth Moves and fishing trip is in tonights Rochester Post Bulletin newspaper [7-24-03]. These Smooth Moves seat mounts are so good that alot of the big tournament guys now have them in their boats. They are great. Sure love mine. Thanks, Bill

    Yes Bill,

John did enjoy the Smooth Moves seat mount! Mille Lacs had some dandy waves during our trip. I also had another trip that same week with a father/daughter on a walleye trip and the daughter had some back problems. She also commented on how “very nice” the ride was sitting in the Smooth moves boat seat!

This mount is great with or with out back problems!!!

Oh by the way Bill……..I’m going in enjoy the ride while sitting in it during our fishing tournament’s.

We will see this Sunday in the MTT here on Mille Lacs.

One little question. Are these bracket’s a fixed mount or do they swivel? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Bobber. I’m thinking of ordering a pair for my boat. It really make’s for a long day of fishing when your back starts to bother you from the rough water.
