hey guys, i mounted a bow mount minnkota trolling motor on my boat and am having problems with the shaft sliding hard when i begin to put it in the water. It appears that the thing is binding vertically when i go to slide it off the rubber “keepers” on the far front of the mount, any suggestions are much much appreciated cause i am beatin the hell outa this thing to get it started moving forward. Thanks in advance fellas.

I’ve used Armorall to lubricated composite shaft trolling motors.

Yeah I ended up putting just the slightest bit of lube on the trolling motor shaft too, and wiped it off good, works smoother now. Not sure if that is the prefered way to get it smoother, but it worked.

yeah, i treid that, but i can see that the problem is actually that the rubber bumpers that it sits against for storage mode are just too damn thick and it makes it bind up. I hate to hack up a trolling motor by shaving off some of the rubber, but i just dont see any other adjustment to it.
