amp draw minn-kota

    i hava a minn-kota maxxium 80 bow mount, and want to relocate the batteries to the back of the boat, but what i dont know is what the amp draw is at full power ,so i can figure out the voltage loss is. this is a 24 volt system any help would be great thanks terry hansen

    I think they recommend a 60 amp breaker with the 80# minnkota. I would call motor clinic tomorrow and they will know for sure.

    I ran 8 ga wire for my boat with one battery in the front, other in the rear and it works great, no warm wires or loss of performance. I would have used 4 gauge if I could have found it. If you can find a pair of jumpers long enough at an auto parts store, you just found yourself a good length of great wire that will exceed all needs, and will also resist impacts or abbrasions(sp?) in the boat over time.
