Looking to pick-up an anchor, for a Pro-v 1900. I will be fishing Pool 4 and the river a lot. Also doing some Mille Lacs, and Superior/Michigan fishing. What do you all recommend for an anchor? Thanks WTA

What you want to get is a waterspike in the big size, a length of rubber coated chain and 150 ft of anchor line. This is my setup for P4, big and small lakes. I have yet to budge in strong current, wind or waves. Slightly bulky in the boat but it does the job it’s supposed to do when in the water. Dean carries the spike at Everts.

I would second Jason’s reply. I have a 35# coated navy anchor and a water spike. The spike is amazing on Mille Lacs. Holds the boat well and doesn’t break my back if I move alot. That navy anchor gets old in a hurry

WaterSpike Anchor System 9300 for boats 16-22 feet in length, weighing 11#. Think that is what will do the trick? Thanks guys. WTA

I use the WaterSpike to anchor my 2025 with no problems. Trick with these is to get a long enough rope. I know some guys put a piece of chain right before the anchor but I have never needed to do this.

Nope. I would go with the one that is rated for the 30′ boats. Had one for many years and it works great. The smaller one that you refer to never did the trick for me on the river .

I’d recommend the waterspike rated for the 30′ boats and you’ll have far better holding power at half the weight of most other anchors.

get the big one, i think it is the 9400 series. it is 15 pounds plus the legnth of chain. i have 200 foot of rope. the one you are talking about worked on my 16 footer, but not on a bigger boat………..tom fellegy

I tried using the smaller size on a 185 G3 up on Rainy a couple weeks back. It was completely inadequate for the job.

I have a 19′ Alumacraft tournament sport and I use a 25lb Richter anchor and have had no problems. good luck
