now i understand the best of both worlds are available, lowrance now has a new handheld unit (i finder pro) that accepts the navionics chip, so if you go on a different boat, you can take it with you, the ONLY down side i can see is the smaller screen than the full size units.

Yep, the new Pro will accept the Navionics cards. That’s gonna be really helpful for folks who need mobility in a GPS unit.

I would guess that it will since it accepts MapCreate Software. You can view a PDF file of the Product Manual. Click on the link and then click on “product manual” below the image of the GPS.

You will be available to download waypoints from LakeMaster, but not the maps themselves. Like Wade said, you can download maps from MapCreate that could include your waypoints from LakeMaster. I have done that before by using LakeMaster to create “routes” outlining specific structure elements (reefs, humps, etc). From there, I am able to then import the “routes” to MapCreate… and then you have a poor-mans countour map. It’s a tedious process, and you need to convert the route waypoints from LakeMaster into a format that can be “read” by MapCreate. I’m a computer geek, so I wrote a quick program that does the conversion. Hope this make sense.
