Do you have the ability to use the adapter plate with a Ram Mount…zero holes required then!!!

    Just an idea!

I have the mounting bracket from RAM and have had a lot of problems getting and then keeping a signal. I got the idea from someone on this site about industrial strength velcro and it works great.

Yep, that’s how I mount mine. I have it in the boat in the summer and can move it to the truck in the winter.

A couple of other options would be the mangnet mount
    or the pole mount.
The pole mount fits on a standard marine antenna mounting
    pole.

I couldn’t find the magnet mount on their site.

In the boat I have now I have 2 pucks mounted using velcro. They seem to be holding up ok. I’ve only been on the water a few times with the puck I mounted this year. The other GPS was mounted by the previous owner of the boat and it is holding up good. I haven’t noticed any problems with it, but I am not sure how long he had it mounted there.

In my last 2 boats I had the puck mounted on a gimble mount, just like the ones most marine radio antennas are on. I put 2-#10 screws in it and it held fine. I had it mounted on a carpeted surface and when it was removed it was hardly noticeable once the carpet was ruffed back up.

i use Velcro on the unit that i use in the winter also. i used goop marine to hold the board to the transom that my transducer is mounted to. 3 years and it is still solid. both ideas will work fine. i also use the goop to hold wires in place on the transom, just less holes drilled in the transom…………..tom fellegy

Not really a method of how to mount but where. The closer to the transducer the more accurate the waypoint will be when going back to a specific spot.
