I hav an opportunity to buy any Abu reel at very discounted price and am wondering if anyone knows or has heard anything about the Abu Garcia® Revo™ Low Profile Baitcast Reels? I am a bass fishing and prefer the low profile reels and within the abu family this is the only model I really see. Any help that you can provide would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dan

    BUY it.

If you do not like it, and I know you will, you can just sell it to me.

I had one for a short time. In two days of fishing, it turned from a smooth, quiet casting machine into a monster. Something happened with the bearings and it sounded like it had sand in it.

One quirk that it has is the brakes on it. You really need to crank it tight to avoid backlashes. I had it adjusted so the lure would barely move at free spool and the brake turned all the way up. Even like that, it’s such a free spooling reel that it’s always on the verge of backlashing. I tried PowerPro and Gamma, same thing happened.

I really tried to like mine as I’m a fan of some of the older Abu’s, but it just didn’t work correctly. I returned it, spent some more, and got a Daiwa Zillion. Problem solved.
