I have a 1999 Charger 495TF. I am running a 225 Yamaha OX66. I am currently running a Michigan Wheel three blade 14.25 23pitch Prop. At 5600rpm I am running about 63. I also have a 6in jackplate. Any suggestions on a prop that would get me moving a little faster.I also have a Michigan Wheel 4 blade that is giving me the same top end at 5600rpm. Not sure right now what the dimensions on it are right now.
The only thing I found comparable is a 06 Charger 496TF with a 06 225 opti, and he’s turning a 25 tempest plus, not sure of rpms or speed though.
Overall I don’t heard anything good about michigan wheel props, not that they are bad, proformance wise I think that is a lot of you issue. You can also get you prop balanced and blue printed most people pick up around 3 mph doing that. Also a lot of people like to run the ox66’s around 6k but you are not too far off.
I assume you’ve moved your motor up and down to find an optimum height. Something doesn’t seem right, I would think your boat should be much faster…

I talked to Charger directly and they suggested that I go to a Tempest Plus 14 5/8 x 25. I should run that between 5600-5800 and when they tested with that porop they got 69-70mph GPS. I also talked with the Turbo Prop Dealer and he suggested a 14 3/4 x 24. I am trying to find somewhere that will let me try one out before I buy it.
