Can someone explain where the in dash speedometer is run from on a 1750 Fishawk with a Yammie 115. It quit working the last time I was on the river. I’m sure it’s plugged because Baypoint was full of green gunk that morning. I know I could look in the manual, but it’s just too easy to ask you guys. Thanks!!

If this is a speedo with a water pickup (vs. a “wheel type”) you probably hit a small stick and the pickup hole in your lower unit is plugged with wood.

I use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the pickup hole and twist it into the hole with my fingers – not a power drill! Once you’re through the wood, push the drill bit in and out to pull out the remaining debris.

Sometimes you can just pick the wood off the front of the hole, but usually it’s packed in the hole. Sometimes WAY in the hole.

    Good luck.

Happens to me all the time. In the front of the lower unit you will find a real small hole and it gets plugged up by hitting a small stick in the water and a sliver gets stuck in the hole. Just unplug the hole and you will see the needle movin again on your speedo. Thanks, Bill
