Does anyone have experience with color depth finders?

Is it easier to tell hard vs soft bottom with the color unit vs. momochrome?

    Thanks.

Yes, hard and soft bottom is much easier to see on the color screens. Units like the Vexilar Edge 3 even have a hard bottom indicator right on the screen.

It’s easier with color units in my opinion. Hard returns show up as a different color than soft returns, making the detection of hard bottom a piece of cake.

No, I don’t stock them any longer. I have to special order them.

I do have the LMS-520C without GPS in stock, which would be a great choice at $459 shipped, with 200khz transom mount ducer. It’s a nice setup. I also have the new Humminbird 917C with the 7-inch screen. Great looking setup as well.
