I just bought this rig with the 2000 9.9 4stroke on it. When I adjust the idle down on the end of the tiller it will idle so slow that there is barely any water coming out of the pee hole. Pick up just a few RPMs and it`s fine. Is that normal? Or do I need a new water pump? Or could it be the idle stop is adjusted to slow…..I mean it really is a sloooooow idle. What about oil pressure when idleing that slow?

    Thanks

I would think the oil pressure would be fine. If your motor was not getting proper oil pressure the alarm would go off or shut down.

As far as the water, I would not be to worried about it. The pump is obviously good if it pushes water at a higher rpm.

If it bothers you then turn the idle up. As long as water is coming out and no alarms are going off I wouldn’t worry about it. JMO
