I am debating buying either the LMS 522C iGPS or the LMS 520C. The key difference between the two units is that the 522c has an internal GPS as oppose to a needing to mount a GPS ‘puck.’
I have also heard that the 520C sometimes has beeter reception.

I am wondering if anyone can share their experience with either of these units and the pro/cons of going with one or the other?

    Thanks
    Dan

Here is some good reading on internal vs. external
    GPS receivers.

    332 vs 334

    Good luck,

Too early to see how the 522C IGPS will be received. A lot of people (Me included) are gunshy of the Lowrance IGPS with all the problems reported with the 334C. One can only hope and assume Lowrance has fixed the problem.

Am I going to be the guinea pig on the 522c ? Nope! I bought the 520C and will just wait to see how things work out.

After waiting almost 2 months, Lowrance replaced my 334C with a 522C.

I haven’t had a chance to hook it up and give it a go yet. Still need to replace my prop in the next couple of days. Doesn’t help that the recent cold spell has reduced my excitement of going to P4, and thus motivating me less to get the job done….
