I’m looking to get a new one. What are the top spec’s I should look for?

I guess I was looking for the most important features. For instance, is the # of pixels on your display more important than the # of watts in your signal strength? (fishmark 320 vs garmin 240) and then how do you compare these to a Bottom Line ?

    Thanks for the info!

Checkout http://www.lowrance.com and go to the sonar tutorial. This will answer most of your questions. The things I look for are high power, sensitivity, and high resolution. I have 2 Garmin 240’s on my boat now. For about 7 years I ran a bottomline 210. Both units performed up to my expectations. I have rigged a few boats with the Eagle fishmarks, and have seen them operate on the water. I was satisfied with their performance but I have seen some defects after a short time. This may just be coincidence.
If you have any other questions, give me a holler.

Check out the Vexilar Edge 507. I look for a locator thats going to show me fish. The Edge does this with it’s dual transducer concept. See my review in the review forum.

    Good Luck
