Hi fellas, I just bought the Lakemaster chip for my Eagle 500c. I’m a rookie when it comes to these things, so could someone tell me how to view the list of lakes on the card or do you just scroll to the lake on the map? When I scroll to the lake it gives me all the contours and info but I was wondering if there is an actual list that I can’t find!

Negatory on the list on the card.

Go to lakemap.com for the list for your version

So to view a lake, you have to scroll over it with keypad and then zoom in? Also, can you view the Lakemaster chip on your pc?

    Brian,
To view a list of the lakes that are on your chip you could go to the Lakemaster website. They have all of them listed on their site. As far as viewing the different lakes from your graph you just scroll around and zoom in on the areas that you want to view just like you stated in your post. I don’t believe you will be able to view your chip on your pc, but they do have software you can buy for that purpose.

    on the zoom.

I don’t believe you can view the card on your pc.
It would defeat the purpose of Lakemaster Pro Contour
    software.

Thanks guys! I’ve always had a GPS just never a unit to view cards so this is all new to me. What can you accomplish when you go to Browse MMC CARDS? Is this where you download upgrades and what not? How and what card do I need to download the newer version? Do I get a blank MMC card or Sd CARD and load it into my pc?

    Brian,
Browsing your mmc cards will just show you what chips you have in your unit if i’m not mistaken. As far as downloading upgrades for your locator you can get the upgrades off the manufacturers website. At least with the Lowrance you can, not real sure about others. You will need a mmc card with enough free space for the upgrade and a card reader for your computer. If I misread this and you are trying to upgrade your Lakemaster chip I’m not real sure you can do that. If you can I would like to know how because I am planning on buying the new chip tomorrow at the show!

Lakemaster cards are not upgradeable and cannot be used in your PC. Your Lakemaster card has a lock tab on it, I suggest keeping it locked so you never accidentally write over it. If you write over it you will permanently damage it.

CMNeyeguy is correct, browsing your MMC files on your GPS is just for that purpose, browsing. Some of the bigger units hold two cards, browsing allows you to select what card you want to view.

You can get a small MMC card for running patches on the Eagle unit and backing up my waypoints(hint, hint ). You will/can not upgrade the Lakemaster card. I would not even put it in your pc. Many have tried and ended up ruining the card. Call me if you want me to walk you through it.
