    Hey guys,
I am sure this has been discussed in the past, but I was looking for opinions on what you think the best braid line is.
I have been using Power Pro and I use it on almost all of my rods.
I do not like the bleaching out to white that the line does and sometimes it can fray and flatten out.
Any thoughts on other stuff used?
    Thanks

I have used a number of different ones, and my choices vary on the application. For deep water trolling, I have fallen in love with Suffix Supreme to replace my Fireline and PP. For shallow water trolling, Holst sold me on the Spiderwire Stealth. I have been using the Supreme for pulling crawler harnesses too!

I really like Cabela`s SI. It is silicone impregnated so works well in cold temps, casts really well.. Comes in different colors. TOUGH TOUGH line, 25# is 6# diameter. Works excellent on open face reels. Feels a little stiff when first spooled up on open face reels but once it is used a little get`s so soft and limp it is like sewing thread. That is one of my minor complaints is it gets so limp it is hard to get through the eye of a hook or bait.

I just really really like this braid, especially over Fireline JMHO.

    Good Luck

Give Stren Super Braid a try. I just switched over to that from Power Pro. It is every bit as good and priced MUCH better. In addition, it does not bind on your spool like Power Pro can do.

Anyone tried P-line’s offering (Spectrex IV?)? The price is right.

I agree with Scott. I just started making the move from power pro to the stren braid on my bait casting reels that I use braid on. I tried it on one reel as an experiment and loved it. I have spiderwire stealth on my musky rods and I like that as well. I still have power pro on my medium light jig rods as they don’t have a lot of backbone on hooksets when you have a lot of line out. Lost too many fish when I had mono on, and I think the power pro works nicely on spinning reels.

I have been using the stren braid for quite a while now…
I like it over every other braid I have used…

I just checked out Cabelas site and they have Stren costing more than Power Pro and most of the other braids. Am I looking at the right Stren? cabelas

For trolling and 3-way rigging bait on the river I use spider wire stealth 6lb diameter 20lb test. On spinning rods fireline or power pro get my vote. Spider wire does not work well on a spinning reel, it’s to limp and you will have tangles .

For Trolling aan 3-waying Spider Stealth 20lb Test / 6 lb daimeter. For Spinning Reels I use Firleine. I love the Strength, No Stretch and Sensitivity on both. I used mono this past weekend and hated every minute of it.

    Fireline for trolling.
Power Pro for casting, especially if you have it on a spinning reel. Stren Super Braid gets way to many wind knots. 100lb Stren Super Braid is great if you are looking for a musky line. It depends on the application you use it for. Most braided lines will eventually bleach out, some just faster than others. You can always use a black permanent marker or whatever color and tie your line to a tree and recolor it…
