Onboard DC Alternator Chargers

    Has anyone else noticed a battery charger from MinnKota in the Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas catalog that is supposed to charge your batteries using the main motor’s alternator? The interesting thing is the products are listed in the catalogs, but are not on the web site store. When I search Cabelas for the product number, it says the item is no longer available. I’m wondering if there is a story with these chargers? They seem to have been pulled from “shelves” in a hurry? Anyone know the scoop?

    Not sure on the status of them. You need to run your engine long enough to charge them. You might be better off with charging them at home.

    I agree. I wouldn’t buy one until some people had feedback on them. But, I’m more curious about why they were pulled right away. Patent infringement? Defective?
