Stupidity and functioning LCR’s

Well, I spent the better part of today thinking my LCR was on the fritz. It was blotchy and hard to read, at times it looked like the screen was blacked out. I’d tilt it and turn it and the blotches would move, and when I talked to my wife mid-day my only comments on it were, “I’m sure glad that new fishfinder showed up the other day, this one’s crappin’ out on me!”

Well, after she looked at it and said she couldn’t see anything wrong, I wiped the filth off the screen and it still looked like the LCR was all goofed up to me. She thought I was completely insane when I kept asking her why she couldn’t see those blotches and dark spots on the screen.

Finally, I looked at the unit without my sunglasses on: Welcome to the world of polarized lenses, Gianni.

I’ve felt like this big of an idiot before, but it’s been a while.

John, just repeat to yourself 3 times:

    Things will get better.

I made it twice, then stopped and thought, “Wait a minute – I am a dufus.”

Oh well, there’s certainly worse things to be.

    Gianni,

Herb’s right………….and you’ve GOT to believe it! While it’s impossible for you to see inside my mind, I can vouch that I’ve done worse and I remain confident that you’re still VERY intelligent!

However, on the lighter side…………….isn’t it fun when something like this is reflected upon, and we stop……….at least for a little while……….. taking ourselves so seriously? Sometimes the moments I find to laugh at myself become my favorite event of the day! I may still turn 7 shades of red, but it’s just plain funny when I’m forced to put “me” back in “my” place!

Hey bud, I’m still accepting applications for the NBIC! (natural born idiots club)

    Carry on!
