Tach installation on 2005 Yamaha tiller question.

    I picked up a digital tach for my 75HP Yamaha 4 stroke tiller. It came in a factory sealed box with the required cables. Unfortunatly Yamaha does not include any instructions for the installation and the tach cable wire colors do not match any on the engine. I thought I would ask here if anybody has had any experiance with these units? Thanks.

    You mentioned it came with cables, are you referring to the harness? You need a harness that attaches the tach to the motor. I had a buddy that bought a tach and tried to install it himself. Even the dealer took 3 hours to figure it out..

    Harness should look something like this..
