How have they been running guys? Any problems yet? Mine is a great motor when running but got to say it has been having some issues. Mine is going in for reprogramming now. There thinking this should take care of the motor not keeping the battery charged up. This may solve the problems there has been with the starter also. Not sure if this will fix the problems with short plug life. Just wondering if you guys have been having any of these problems?

I have not had any problems at all with mine. It has been flawless. I do not have a ton of hours on it yet. No problems with the alternator, starter or plugs. I have never used it to troll or much slow travel though either. It gets run at pretty high rpm’s most of the time. I really just use it to get to and from hunting spots and to run the river to fish. When fishing I just use it to get to the spot then one of the electrics take over. I have it set up to run xd-100 I have heard of some of the motors set up to run xd-50 have had some problems. However all they took to fix was to change the oil settings and go to the 100.

Sorry I am not of more help but knock on wood the etec I have has been strong and without problems thus far.

Thanks for the reply. Thats the info Im looking for. Trying to see if its something with just my motor or if others have been having any of the same problems.

Mine is set on 100 for oil. Heard this is supposed to be better for running in cold weather.

Mike, something is wrong with your motor. That motor should start easy every time and run like a dream. I have used that same motor for Demo Days giving rides in boats. My guess is a reprogramming will take care of your issues.
