i’ve got reel problems

    hey all,

    i recently purchased a new “Quantum ResponseTI 2000” reel and i’ve been having some difficulties with it. sometimes the back reel will kick in for no apparent reason. i don’t even touch the back reel switch but it just starts reeling backwards at random. this gets to be a big problem when trying to set the hook on a fish and my reel goes ziiiiinnnggg and i end up with a huge mess in my line and no fish. this does not make Jake happy.

    is there something that i’m missing here? is there an actual reason why the back reel kicks in or do you think it’s a faulty reel? i’ve looked through the manual that came with it and it doesn’t say anything about an automatic back reeling system.

    Same thing just happened to one of my Pinnacle reels last week. I am going to pull it apart to see if I can figure out what’s wrong.

    It doesn’t sound good.

    Hey Jake, bring it with you to the next Walleye Searchers meeting and have John Walter fix it for you. Or call him at 507-775-6406 and tell him you want to drop it off at his house. Hes good and very reasonable on price. Thanks, Bill

    Take it back where you got it and tell them it’s faulty. They should give you a new one…

    By all means, take it back for a replacement or refund. Having another party work on the reel may void the warranty, not sure on that item but I would be very hesitent to have the work done by anyone besides the manufacturer when the reel is still covered.

    i’d take it back to gander mt. but i can’t find the receit . why do i always throw those things away .

    anyway, the good news is that i e-mailed the company about the problem and they just said send it back and they’ll replace it . no receit or nothing. that is excelent
