Brian~
The new 520c was specifically made to fit in that empty space in my boat…So please forward that unit to my shipping address a.s.a.p so I can get it installed before open water. Mr.Barber has me really worried about what tomorrow might bring as weather wise..
They changed the color on the connectors in the back of the unit along with have a few lakes pre loaded into the GPS for contour lines…..These contour lines are very limited and are only in 5′! Other than that not much has changed…Even the lettering on the boxes that they sell is the same as the 332c!
Also note that they went to LGC 3000 antennas this year as well, which will still allow you to network. Also added radar!!! That might be a good option for you BrianK!!
Thanks All!
Dean was telling me they are hard to get a hold of…and I was wondering why.
I’m starting to see some people pissed off over the whole antenna issue, apparently to use the lcg2000 (old antenna) they require some adaptor cable to hook it up to the new red network, apparently it runs around $90 from lowrance. I’m not 100% sure how accurate it is, I’ve heard it from a couple different people elsewhere, and to top that off I’m not sure the cable is even available yet, if you don’t plan on trying to network an older unit with a newer unit, or only use one antenna for two units, it would be a non issue.
Correct me if im wrong, but i believe the connectors are the same except they added ethernet connections for video, radar, and satellite radio.
Who the heck needs that kind of stuff?

It seems the network is the change this year different connectors for the net work “red” connectors, that apparently work just fine with the “blue” connectors if you have the proper cable to combine the two. Otherwise you are right, same transducers (blue) and added the eithernet connector, which I haven’t seemed to find any additional use for yet, maybe easier than the older units, but my 111 will still do radar, not that I’ve really looked either.
(I’m just kind of a tech junkie)

I called Lowrance Tech support. The new units with the red network connectors will not connect to the Nema network with the blue connectors unless an adapter is used. There is an adapter that will be made but the Lowrance Tech person said they had no availability date yet.Perhaps Wade has more info.
There is an adapter in the making that will allow one to connect the new units to the “old” network. Part # 127-05 will have two female connectors which you will connect one to the male on a “hard T” and one to the male on the new unit.
That aside, one can still supply GPS from an old unit to a new unit via the NMEA 0183 port. It’s darn near free, just the cost of a few electrical wires. This is the old system that has been used for years and still works.
