I am thinking about getting a 334c for the bow of my boat but I have heard that there had been some issues with the internal GPS antenna when the unit wasn’t facing directly upright – has anybody had any problems??

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have one I use in the dash of my truck for winter fishing on LOTW. It works great now! Mine was in 3 times to Lowrance until I got one that worked.

I wonder why they replaced it with a new model number this year?

They had some issues with the software in the unit at first was my understanding. From all accounts, that has been fixed and the units are working great! If you have specific questions, I’d give Wade a shout/email at JOLLY ANN MARINE.

Out of the initial group of over 5,000 that were first made, they had some that needed an upgrade. Since that upgrade there are few to no issues with these units. I used one last year on my bow during the FLW season and it worked to perfection.

Wade would suggest getting an external antena model like the 332C or one of the New 500 series models.

I’m on my third unit, which I used couple times before winter set in, and all was well. won’t re-hash my experience, because you can do a search in the Forum and find all the gory details of mine and others. But I must emphasize that I really like the unit when it works, and Lowrance’s service has been nothing short of exceptional, when dealing with me on the problems I experienced.

    Wade,

Just curious, how come you recommend the external antenna vs internal? I thought internal was the way to go since the improvements/upgrades were made? I would like to use mine up front sometimes and maybe icefishing too. Now you have me questioning my next purchase..Oooops…hope Mama doesn’t see that!
