I have the Typhoon series and I use mine all winter long because it’s so good. You will not be disappointed in the Typhoon series. It’s kept me dry and warm in the boat and on the ice.
Hey Brian, I hope this will help you out. I just got mine in about a week ago and I can’t wait to give it a trial run. As far as the fit and quality. Click on the link below
I got my Typhoon gear about a month ago and have been using it for ice fishing daily. I got it a little big so I would have room to layer. It has been great! Absolutely NO wind gets through this stuff and believe me living in Nebraska the wind blows. I’ll spend the entire day outside my shack while I never see another person come out of theirs.
Brian, I love my set of Gamehide Typhoon rain gear.
I have not wore the Fish Finder series, so I can not give you an accurate comparison between the 2 or if the Typhoon is worth the extra money. However, I have heard input from others that they liked the FishFinder gear. I would suggest if you can afford the Typhoon rain gear, go with that. I have had my Typhoon on the ice a few times this season and found it more than adequate, however there are some guys that spend way more time on the ice that may be able to give a better opinion (like Ben above). Good luck on your decison. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
I have both Guide Series and Game Hide Typhoon gear. They both are really good suits. I have mainly been using my Game Hide lately…for the reasons mentioned above. NO WIND gets through. Plus it is better fitting on me. I layer accordingly and put it over what I’m wearing. With my Guide Series it is a little thougher to dress with it already being insulated. I think both are really good products…but I’d lean a little more towards Game Hide…I also haven’t tried the Fish Finder series…but I know someone who has and I’ll see how they like theirs.
I love the Typhoon wear. As mentioned, NO wind gets through, yet it breathes well, and you do not sweat, keeping you very warm and dry. Even without wearing a lot of bulky clothes under them in winter. I thought I would be, but I just wear a T-shirt and sweatshirt.
