Got a question about this camera, Just picked one of these camera up for 108 bucks couldn’t pass it up. The camera is a Aqua cam model acuw-502. The camera has 12 LED lights inside, you can see them but I can’t seem to get them to work. The box and manual show them and also talk about them but doesn’t tell how to turn them on.

Did anyone else get one of these camera, and do your LED light work?

Does any one know how to turn on these lights?

Also do you really need this lights ?
    Thanks for any help

More than likely, they are “Infra-red” LED’s. The less expensive set-up’s run IR diodes. They will work but not to the extent of the visual color spectrum diodes. Let us know how that camera works when you get it in the water.

Hate to be the one to send bad news. I know a couple guys that tried them and they did not last long at all. One had a cable issue and the other water got into the camera itself. My advice would be to take it back if you have the reciept. If that is not an option I wish you best of luck and hope it works out better for you

Try using it in a dark room and you will be able to see if the IR lights work.

I got one of those cams and it is a piece of junk. when I first got one it leaked water into the camra so I took it back and got another one. That one worked for a while in shallow water, under 20 ft., but in deep waterover 30 ft it fogged up inside the lens. Now after a year is up the monitor has become so blurry you can’t tell what the camera is looking at even when the camera is out of the water. I should have got my money back right away. Also the lights are always on when the camera is on. you can’t turn them off. if you look at the picture on the monitor you can see the light circle.

I just surfed into this site when I was looking for an extra battery for this same unit. I have had it for two seasons now and my only complaint is the batt life stinks! I think if I haul an extra battery around I might be ok.

I own one and it works better than my friends aqua view, I have never had a problem with it.

    Well now, Hi Honey!

What instruction book are you looking for? Aqua View or Marcum?

If a MarCum, you really shouldn’t need the instructions, but they can be had at http://www.marcumtech.com . You’ll have to send an email.

For batteries, they can be purchased on the same website or go to your local sporting goods store like Thorne Bros. It’s the same battery as in a flasher…I would recommend the 9 ah over the 7 ah.

Is there any place that you can buy the cam alone not the monitor ?? I bought this unit for 5 bucks at a garage sale today and they told me that the cam gets wet/fogged/blurry, thought i would give it a shot and just buy the cam and cord new and start over. BUT i just can’t find one on the net any where.
