For fishing walleyes or maybe the Countdown Rapala would be a better choice.

Salmo bullheads are hot here. Need to get a few perch and I’m sure a few new raps will find there way into my box.

Guy comes on here asking about a Rapala and you get how many pics about another lure from a site Pro? Real classy…..

Oh by the way there are some great reports coming in on that new lure. I can’t wait to give it a try this summer at numerous FLW Tour events. I hope some of the fine folks that have had a chance to run that lure jump on board and provide some real life experience of how it’s been working for them……. Kurt

P.S. Salmo makes a great lure and I own plenty of them. Do you really think Salmo would be proud of this kind of post? Highly unlikely………

I bought up a handful this last fall up on mille lacs but the walleyes were ultra-shallow in the weeds so I didn’t get a chance to pull them when the fish were biting. I did run them boat side and they tracked wonderfully.

I look forward to running them on pool 4 this spring. Usually we get a good crank bite by early may.

I like the look of the new minnow raps. Like James, I bought some in the fall but really haven’t had a chance to test them.

Could someone please get this ice off my river…

I know Moores ordered some up at the show a while back.. I look forward to putting a few in my boax and see how they work. The size and depth they run seems to be perfect for many applications. I am sure they will quickly turn into one of my favorites.

Used them this fall on Minnetonka. Worked well. The walleyes liked the action and I liked the ability to run less line out while trolling weed lines. Now if I could just get the same colors as the husky jerks ie glass perch and a 4.5″ sizeI’d be really happy.

I bought some last Fall also. Never used them but I can’t remeber what kind of depths is one suppose to be able to achieve?

Ok, I probably shouldn’t “bite” on this one but here goes.

You are not cleaning up anything for ME. Perhaps for the individual that asked about this particular lure but not for ME.

If you’d like to share your experience with another brand I suggest putting up a review of the lure with 8 kazillion photos supporting your review.

Trust me you did this for your own self image as it did absolutely NOTHING for ME………

Kind of like when someone asks about a particular boat or motor brand and all he gets in response is how stupid he is that he would even consider brand X.

It’s been my experience that this website has always been far removed from those types of replies but maybe it’s just that I’m too sensitive and somehow gloss over those…. (But I highly doubt it and perhaps if you knew me you would agree…….)

My own self image? Thats a pretty strong accusation when you dont even know me. Anyone that has met me will tell you the same. I was merely showing how well the Salmo Perch performed for me. I didnt post anything negitive about Rapala. Nor did I post 8 kazillon pictures, a drama queen maybe?

Again, my original post was just an opinion. Just like you stated when you called me out in a public forum. If you have remarks to make about my posts, send me a PM. Talk about class?

Kurt and Derek, I know you both enough to know you’re both good guys. I’ll buy ya both a beer and a cigar at the GTG at Everts in June. Hope to see you both there!

Have a good weekend guys. I’m off to spend some time with family. I got a 5-year-old who wants to ride the roller coaster!

After reading this, I had to look and see if I was still on IDA. Yep. Wow, this usually doesn’t happen here, but I think cooler heads prevailed. We all know the background that rapala has and I don’t think we have to question that this lure will be the next best thing. I, too have had good success with the Salmo’s, they both have a time and a place. I do think this new minnow rap will be awesome also!!

I don’t know if this will work, but I think this is what he is talking about. I went to Cabelas and cut and pasted, but I don’t know if it worked.

Actually the photo above is a regular shad rap deep diver… with the red bills.

    Here’s the Minnow Rap.

Notice it has a slender body compared to the regular shad rap.

    James got the right ones

I believe they are supposed to run 8′-12′? I think my memory serves correctly.

I think they are going to be great for beating the rocks in the river in the fall myself, and they should prove to be about perfect for trolling the deep weed edge above the “stubble” which I am known for without dredging the weeds.

A guy has to do something when the water is too cold for a good catfish bite in the fall

Yes, what James had. That is what I tried to copy and paste from the Cabela’s website, but it obviously didn’t work for me. Thanks James.

I am eager to see how they cast. They should cut the air a bit better than the shad raps.

Since we’re on the subject of new crankbaits, the new jointed Wally Divers should be worth checking out too!
