Has anyone used the Trojan brand battery in your boat?

I know they are used in most all electric golf carts today.
The Batteries plus manager was talking to me about them a week ago. He showed me their marine line and gave them high marks!

I was at their website yesterday. They’re suppose to be one of the best for marine applications, but they are pricey. $225 and up. I need 2 for my 12/24 volt trolling motor and I didn ‘t see where they make a 12/24 volt system like the Optima Troll Fury. so I guess I’m going to stick with Optima.

Leo Kam, I think the 31 series Trojan deep cycle was $105 at Batteries Plus? They were $30 more than their own line of Deep cycle……..

I hope you’re right. I would have gotten snookered if I bought them at the site I visited. Bobber, you wouldn’t know if they do make a 12/24 volt combined system like the Optima Troll Fury, would you?

    Sorry no I don’t.

Call Batteries Plus and ask them, they were great to work with.

They also sell them at the Gander Mtn in Woodbury. Price was well under 100 for size 27. Seems like I remember 60 something>?

I ran a set in my boat for about 3 years with really good luck. One was a 31 and one was a 27 for the starter. Did not pay big bucks as I recall.

I bought a deep cycle trojan last year no complaints here it cost me a $100 we’ll see if it was worth it in years to come. Also I bought it directly from the rep in northeast mpls may have saved a few bucks there. If you do go northeast stop in for a Mayslacks roastbeef sandwich.

I run trojan battery for my main starter battery. The nice thing with this battery is that it has 2 threaded posts per terminal. I have so many wires going to my main starter that this helps keep the wires very organized and spaced accordingly and much easier to work with if you do have a battery connection problem.
