Just retired my Silverado 2500 for a new F-150 Super Crew with the 5.4, 17″ wheels, & the towing package. Towed abuddys Mr Pike 17 to Mille lacs on Friday and towed like a dream. Any input on the F-150s?

Great truck, I have 02. Get a K&N air filter, helps a bit.

I’ve got a 99 extended cab, 4.6L w/ 17″ off road yadda yadda. Love it.

The only problem I’ve had is that the wipers intermittently swipe once on their own. It’s just a short somewhere in the switch that gets agitated when I run the turn signals. I’ve done some surfing and found two or three others who had this same problem. Annoys me that they’ve taken three different switches and combined them on that one stinkin’ lever; if it was in the dash I could replace it myself.

I’ve got a 2000 F-250 crew that has treated me really good so far. The only thing I didn’t like about the F-150 Crew was the lack of box space, other than that it looks like a great truck.

I have two Super Crew 150s. Both are top notch for light duty towing and taking clients to the boat ramps for demos. The 5.4 pulls well, but shifts quite a bit with a load. Can’t beat the ride.

I had nothing but Ford P/Us for years but after comparing the power and acceleration of the 5.4 to the Chevy Vortec 5.3 there was a big gap since about 1998 in Chevs favor. I keep checking out the new Fords though, they are sharp and the power& gas mpg are definitely getting better. I am getting an honest 15+ mpg hauling my 3000# Crestliner rig like a breeze at 70 mph.
