I may have seen this topic before.

I want to buy a new hand held GPS but also want as much bang for my buck as well.
    Please share your thoughts.

    Thank You

Are you looking for a handheld that can run Contour chips/Lakemaps or just a basic GPS.

Yes, a hand held that will do all that.

I personally use the Lowrance Ifinder Map & Music with a LakeMaster chip installed and purely just LOVE it… Talk to Wade Keuhl and give him your thoughts of what you are looking for and what you want the unit to do and he should have something for you that will satisfy your search…

I haven’t used anything other than the H20 that I have. It’s been the best money I’ve ever spent on something for the outdoors.

    It locks in quick
    Easy Menu
Chip is easy to put in
Use it in my auto, ATV, and duck boat
    Take it on vacation, everywhere

I got mine from Wade. He’ll have the best price and it will hit your door in 48 hours at worst.

I would agree with the above. This is one of the many units I have and my favorite combo for sure

Check out Wade’s prices at http://www.jollyann.com That is where I ordered my last two. He has a special on the unit with the Lakemaster chip

I recently got mine from Wade as well….talk about SERVICE WITH A SMILE…that guy really takes care of his customers! I love the new H2Oc with 2007 Lakemaster SD card. Scott’s post just before this has Wade’s site..

If color is not a big concern (for me on a handheld, it’s just not an issue. Grayscale is just fine), I would go with the Lowrance iFinder H2O. It takes the chip and works great. I paid too much for mine a couple weeks ago at Gander Mtn ($169). I was just in too big of a hurry to wait and pay smart.

My opinion is color is a must. I used to live without it but now I can’t stand using the ones that aren’t color. Definetly worth a little extra $$

H2O C takes the cake with the Lakemaster and Navionics chip.

There (2) reasons why I chose the H2O over the H2OC.

    1. Color is it is hard to read in bright sunlight.
    2. You ALWAYS need the backlight on, and that chews thru batteries pretty fast.

I hook mine up to a 12 volt source in the truck or boat if I’m running on battries I run Litiums and they last a long time. Color gets my vote also so much easier to read.

The cord comes with the unit when you buy.

Are we talking a cigarette lighter as your 12 volt source?

Yes, the H2OC and all current Lowrance Handheld GPS units come with the 12V cig lighter power cord. You can purchase one of those alligator clip adapters to connect it to a 12v battery directly if you don’t have a cigarette lighter in the boat or on the ATV. They can even be used with a portable ice sonar pack that way.

I attached a pic of one.

The power cable that comes with the GPS looks like this.

FYI guys, Jolly Ann Marine offers special prices on these handhelds and even has special package prices on the GPS with Lakemaster or Navionics chips.
