I am haveing a hard time getting my transducer cable fished through the side of the boat. I just bought a LCX25C and I have 98 Ranger 692. I have no problem get the fish cable through. The new connectors these days are so big that it keeps getting stuck. Can you cut the cable and resplice it? It doesn’t look like it is a good idea. Anyone else have any tricks? Thanks for the help.

You don’t want to cut it Bill – find somebody that has a steel ribbon plumbing snake and electrical tape the connector to the tape – work at it and it will go. I did one of these in the last couple months. Certainly a finesse job.

Had the same issue last spring. If the old cable is still in place you can bind the two together, then pull the new one threw with the old.

    Good luck

Tried that one already. The old cord came into contact with something sharp and cut as I was trying to yank it through. I will try that electrical tape idea. Maybe if I wrap it up tight enough it won’t get caught as easy. And if that doesn’t work I may have to take it in and pay the piper. Thanks for your replys.

Fish tape, good electrical tape to ties them together. Tape entire connector, if it still tends to stick and bind, pull it back and apply either dish soap or wire pulling lube (Home Depot) and you’ll get it through. Don’t forget some words of encouragement either!
