Have you made sure that the unit is trying to

read the correct map in “Map Data”?

It may have reset to the default mode when it was

    repaired.

do you think the unit is bad or the chip?

Try the chip in someone elses gps to see if it reacts the same – it is always possible that they fixed what they perceived to be the problem – but missed a bigger issue elsewhere in the gps… trying the chip elsewhere should answer your question on where the issue lies… Chuckles

I would’t think it would be the chip you do have the chip inserted correctly right?

Matt along with others have had this problem and it’s usually been the unit itself.

Like Chuck said if you can test the chip elswhere that would help.

I’ve got $10 says its both. There have a few people that are having this problem. Its simply the connections of the chip and handheld. Most people notice the chip works in their boats and then doesn’t in the handheld.

i put the chip in my h2o and still did not work. so the i put my chip into my dads unit and it worked just fine. what would make a chip go bad?

It sounds like the connections that read the chip are bad in your H20. Try removing the chip and replacing it several times. The chip is not making good connection with the unit it sounds like.
