Looking at getting a new depth finder that I can use on the boat and set up for on the ice. Would like it to have a graph and a flsher mode. Be nice if it is colord but I don’t wont to brake the bank. Any suggestions doesn’t mater what kind as long as it is essay to operate.

Lawrance and Marcum has a wide variety of Fish finders that you can easily make portable. And I know from personal experience the Lawrence has both of what you search for graph/flasher. Dont own a Marcum YET!!! Kinda liked what I seen today out on the ice though..
But if you are wanting color you may end up spending a nice chunk of change. You might wanna talk to Wade Khuel (sp) and see what he might have and give you a price range. Heard nothing but great things about him and his customer service skills and willingness to help out..

I’m going to try out my Lowrance 332 on the ice tomorrow, I just picked up an ice ducer and I actually think it’s going to be pretty sweet for ice fishing, plus I like the 5 inch screen for the gps when I’m blazing across the ice. I tried it out a bit in the garage, and I was really suprised how good the flasher seemed to work.

Eagle too, makes portable boxes for their graphs. For many years, I never used a flasher, just my old portable Eagle for ice fishing.

Also, then you have it for any fly-in trips in case the opportunity arises!

Well flasher mode didn’t seem to work so hot for me, honestly I only tried for like 30 seconds, I was running and gunning so I ended up just grabbing my flasher, I have to try spending some more time on it, things just weren’t going smoothly out there, that night anyways, didn’t have the paitence to play with it more. I think the graph mode works fine for ice fishing, I just wanted to try the flasher mode, I’ll bet I just do not have it dialed in yet, I’ll have plenty of time over the weekend on Millelacs to play with it. Plenty of people are running lowrance’s ice machine and they seem to like them so it’s gotta work alright.

I’ve got an X67c. I think the flasher mode is pretty useless. I pretty much exclusively use the graph mode or the split-zoom graph mode (depending on depth), and I find it extremely useful.

It works great on the ice and in the boat.

Flasher dudes will tell you that the screen will slow down in the cold. IT WILL NOT. I was on Mille Lacs for three hours on Friday morning without a house, and it did not slow down one bit (it was C-O-L-D).

I used the X67c for the first time last weekend and I thought the flasher worked great. It took a little time playing with the settings to get her dialed in, but once it once I had no problems with the flasher. Ran it for about 8hours and the battery remained full. It was able to pick up the split shots on my line that were about a foot above my lure. Kept thinking there were fish above my lure, until I realized what I was looking at. The graph mode worked pretty sweet when fishing above a weedbed. Overall I am very happy with the unit and can’t wait to try it out on open water.
