    I got one.
I chopped open the top. That way I could get longer rods in there.

But I do think they will hold a 28″ though.

I’m ok with the purchase of it. It comes in handy when I’m fishing with others and not pulling my own sled…….But for $50 or whatever they cost, I won’t buy another.

But a guy can get a lot of stuff in them!!!!

I have one.. works great. I cant recall how long my rods are(just doesnt sound right does it?), I am certain the 28’s will fit.

I like mine, its sturdy, not too low to the ground, not to high to fit in the 1 man pullover and sit up strait, The rod locker is dreat and holds a bunch of rods safely if you fold the handles, it fits a ton of stuff under the seat and has a handy foam jig catcher, the bottom compartment is large enough to fit an air bag full of minnows if its not overfilled.

Way better than getting *bucket-butt* and a sore back with no support, and it keeps me from forgetting or having to carry 5 different things in a separate bucket.

They are a little cumbersome to carry when they are overloaded… but so is a bunch of gear anyhow. They are perfect for keeping your stuff together and organized.

Thanx for the info…wasn’t ever really interested in them, but looked at one at Gander ($65–ouch) and thought it would be a great gig for tackle bag, rods, scoop, etc…

And the low back support is what sold it for me….loved that

Maybe I’ll keep my eyes out for a used one

    Thanx guys

The “drink holder” is what sold me on it!

Once I saw that….said: “oh yea, you’re coming home with me!”

Some buddies think I’m nuts for dragging mine around, but I do have all my gear in there, minus tip-ups. Like Dave said, they are handy, but expensive and bulky.

They are $50 at fleet farm… might have been a sale for $45 around xmas if I remember the ad right.

    yes.. the drinkholder is nice!

I intend to make a couple modifications to mine.. I am gong to put a couple LED side marker lights on it(with a switch) and a aftermarket rod holder or 2. Thats the only way this thing could be any more handy.. a light in the front, and on the side to be able to see whats happening at the ice hole.. and in my sled/bait bucket, etc.

Ok.. it could be more handy with a RAM mount to hold the flasher.. bt thats too much!

I have had the Keeper Deluxe… Got rid of it not long ago. I would suggest spending about $20 more and get the new Clam chair… rod storage, tip-up storage, tackle storage… everything.

I like both, but with lower back problems, I am guessing I can lean back occasionally agaist the keeper, but the clam looks like a soft back…anyone have the clam?

Im recovering from a broken back three months ago, L2 burst fracture, and just got out of my brace. I recently sat in the new clam chair and i thought it was extremely comfortable and gave good support and promoted proper posture.

    good fishin

Fear, sorry to hear about your back…..since you have the clam, I’ll ask you…is there back support? Can I straighten up and lean backwards on it without fear of falling on my arse??

Also, i’m a big guy (thus the name) will it support 300 lbs?

I dont know what it will support, id guess you would be fine. Yes you can lean back into it and it supports good.
