RPM problem with my new FICHT 90

I just bought a 2003 Crestliner Fishhawk 1650 with a FICHT 90, and a Michigan Wheel Rapture 17 inch pitch prop. I just finished the break in period, and I can only get 4800 RPM at WOT. Evinrude says that motor should run 5250 to 5750 at WOT. I also noticed a miss when I start to accelerate from idle. I can only get about 40 mph GPS at WOT, I think I should be closer to 50, since my Dad has the exact same boat, with a Yamaha 80 four stroke, and he gets 41-42 mph at WOT GPS, with the same size prop. I know something has to be wrong when the exact same boat that I have runs Faster with a SMALLER FOUR-STROKE motor! Has anyone experienced anything similar to this that I can expect to hear when I bring it back to be checked out?

I had the same boat 14 months ago and got 37 mph out of a Yamaha 50 hp 4 stroke. I strongly suspect the wrong diameter or pitch prop. Check with your dealer or Evinrude.
I went through 3 different prop size/pitch before I got the right one with my new 1750 Crestliner and 115 Yammy 4 stroke. The first one gave me only 41 mph, 2nd 43, now I can crack 50-51 with a stock 3bld prop. Good Luck
